TCS Questions

Posting this here as my frnds asked to. It may help somebody preparing for TCS.

Hi guys, this s Sharma. I attended TCS interview in Vivekananda on 21st aug. gonna share some questions and some thoughts about the ques pattern, hope this helps u
First of all the TCS online test is very very easy. All that u need to crack is presence of mind and u shoud b active too. Almost preparation doesn’t plays a main role here.
There will b 35 questions full aptitude no synonyms, antonyms, comprehension. So guys who r may have a little lack of experience in English cheer up. One hour will b given to solve those questions.
Important: Caluculator can be used. They may ask u to use the system calculator. But it would b convenient if we go with our own calculator.
And the second thing to ponder about is that they will try to confuse you by giving so many irrelevant data. So make sure u r not spending time to understand a line of the question from which u r going to get nothing. U may get me If u see some examples.
Some questions that I can remember
1. 1,2,3,4,5. Find how many four digit numbers which can b divisible by four could be formed from those five numbers.

Its like the old trick finding a number could b divisible by 4. Adding last two digits,,,,,, bla bla

2. A scientist who s doing a research about that the skin colour of the animals could change according to the distance they travel across. One day he followed a bear 20 km north from his home and attached a sensor to track down the movement of the bear. And then he walked back 20 km south to reach his lab. What was the coulor of the bear when he tagged the sensor to it???

Seems silly right the choices are

a.red

b.grey

c.white

d.black

The answer is black. And keep in mind that the answer may b white if the bear was a polar bear. It’s a commonly known iq question. But here there s no detail that the bear lives in north pole.

Got it?

**3. ** Alice lived in wonderland and met a rat and lion on Monday,. The rat will tell lie on the following days sun, mon, tue and tell truth on the other days. The lion will tell lie on wed, thur, fri.

Rat: I have spoken a lie yesterday.

Lion : I too have spoken a lie yesterday.

What s the day?

a. Monday

b. Saturday

c. Tuesday

d. Wednesday

It’s a little bit tricky. I think the answer is Wednesday. Simple the lion lied that it lied on yesterday. Understand?
***4. (50*51/25)-(53*53) some question like this which could be solved with the help of the calc

5. A number series

16,5,31,12,?,26 the question will be so lengthy with some irrelevant data and the numbers given in words, ans 63

6. And a question which attracted me, Chennai corporation is going to name the buildings in a street from 1 to 100. The shops will be numbered from 100 to 150 and the prime numbers from 150 to 180. The question s how many 5 s will be used to number the buildings.

Its interesting while we get in to this,

they have not asked the numbering about the shop. So remove unwanted data

we have to just find out how many 5 s are there between 1 to 100. Its 19

7. Some problems regarding ratio and proportion

8. Probability

9. Pipes and tank filling problem

10. a man have to build a house for his 17 year old daughter ( and some irrelevant data) with the bricks each sized at 9 square meter to build a wall of 20 m wide and 40 m long.

Just find the area and divide by the size of the brick.

As I have told already ques r simple, be active do well. And of course if fate allows u ll b placed there.
All the best

A blind man I met

If you expect anything superficial about the blind man, there is nothing special about this old ordinary blind man. As I was sitting desperate about being lost in the interview ( to be honest I was pondering about the high pay and the luxurious life ) in the bus stop this man crossed by. I was the only person sitting there and it was about 7'o clock in the evening. I had noticed him quite sooner before he crossed me. He was walking with the help of a stick just placing it right on the line which divides the road and platform( which actually was ground full of stones and hurdles ). I must reveal here that it was a busy road. I didn't identify his blindness till he came close to me. After noticing that he was blind abruptly my mind thought as " Why is this silly old blind man walking in this busy road in the night when there is not enough light there ". Oops, Shame on me. What difference could a night and a day make in the journey of a blind man. It may be simple when you read this. Really, I felt like an idiot. I was just worrying about the salary and a deluxe car. On the other hand that blind man has a lot of things to worry about, as he was born with blind eyes ( I helped him to his home and gathered this info then ) he may be having many things to worry about. He don't even know anything visually about this world in which he was living for decades. Just imagine about his world. Its absolutely full of sounds and touches. Oh gosh I am gifted to be born human with no defects. Nothing matters, just have to live a life with those I have got with me and shouldn't care about those missing things around me. This post may seem petty for you but I felt like heaven after that moment.
This photo was taken when we Guys departed after the end of the college. I can't express what i felt at that moment, like the end of the world.

My TCS Interview ( Which actually was a failure)

Despite, I had attended several other interviews which were conducted in the company itself, of course it was my first Off campus experience when I attended the TCS interview in Vivekanandha. It was a real different experience which includes that I got up so early around 2.30 am as I can't sleep. I was asked to be there inside the college campus before 7.30 am. Surprisingly I managed to be there before 7.30 as I had maintained a world record of being late till then. After completing those blah blah procedures of registration I expected them to start the online test. However they prompted me to undergo a different kind of test which might be called as ' The Forbearance test' by the recruiters. They made me wait in a classroom till 2'o clock before I entered the Lab ( in which the online test was conducted). And the test:::: Believe me, Yup it was really easy and I hope I did well. And The result::::: as usual fate and luck played their indispensable roles here. As they have took enough members in the first batch of the test they took a minimal amount from our batch. Still I am unaware that why they made me wait till the end of first session as I were one of the few innocent souls who entered the college at the scheduled time and waited not even knowing for what we were made seated there.

On the other hand as a relief my friend got placed. She deserves it. The first thing that made me miserable was that my dreams about staying together with my close friend were shattered (He was placed there already), and second the college management had announced holiday for their students on that day. ( Dude, its a ladies college he, he)

Hope soon I will be posting about an interview that I got placed.

No ball controversy

Out of proportion

Once Virender Sehwag accepted Suraj Randiv's apology, that should have been the end of that.

By issuing a public apology, the Sri Lankan board merely belittled the concept. At worst, Randiv’s no-ball was petty; at best, it was naughty. But he broke no law; he didn’t even contravene the ICC code of conduct as it is laid out. He can be accused of breaching the spirit of the game, but the spirit of cricket is a fuzzy concept. Batsmen rarely walk when they know they are out, fielders do their worst to cheat a favorable decision out of the umpires; and wives and girlfriends are sometimes brought into the equation to rile an opponent. If Sehwag was owed an apology it was from the bowler.

The bowler apologised, the batsman accepted; where do the rest of us come in?
